Robert Frost - One of the most famous poets in American literature, Robert Frost spent many years living in New Hampshire. His poems often reflect the natural beauty and rural life of the state.

Dan Brown - Best known for his bestselling thriller novels, Dan Brown was born and raised in Exeter, New Hampshire. His books include "The Da Vinci Code," "Angels and Demons," and "Inferno."

J. D. Salinger - Though he was born in New York City, J.D. Salinger lived for many years in Cornish, New Hampshire. He is best known for his novel "The Catcher in the Rye," which continues to be widely read and studied today.

John Irving - A prolific novelist, John Irving has written many books, including "The World According to Garp," "A Widow for One Year," and "A Prayer for Owen Meany." He has lived in New Hampshire for much of his life and is a member of the faculty at the University of New Hampshire.

Sarah Josepha Hale - Born in Newport, New Hampshire, Sarah Josepha Hale was an influential writer and editor in the 19th century. She is best known for her campaign to establish Thanksgiving as a national holiday.
